Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed sustained a painful injury during the third One-Day International against Australia, prompting concerns about his fitness for the upcoming tour.
The injury, which occurred when Ahmed was struck by a bouncer, left him wincing on the field and led to an immediate medical review.
Taskin expressed his disappointment, saying he was hoping to finish the series in better shape.
Details of the injury
The incident took place in the middle overs of the 3rd ODI, when Ahmed was hit on the chest by a fast delivery from Australia. The impact caused a sharp pain that forced him to stop his bowling spell and receive treatment from the on‑field medical staff.
"Not a great feeling," Taskin Ahmed said after the match, describing the physical discomfort and the emotional impact of being sidelined.
Planned medical assessment in Australia
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials confirmed that Taskin Ahmed, along with fellow pacer Nahid Rana, will travel to Australia on Tuesday night for a comprehensive medical evaluation.
